Isaiah & Mariah Are About to Fly to Philly—Then Someone Unexpectedly Appears!
Isaiah thought he had everything planned.
The bags were packed. The flight was booked. Mariah was standing beside him at the airport, smiling as they waited near the departure gate for their flight to Philadelphia.
For the first time in days, Isaiah felt like he could finally escape all the drama.
Mariah looked at him and smiled.
“Are you sure you're ready for Philly?” she asked.
Isaiah nodded.
“I'm more than ready. I just need a fresh start.”
Mariah smiled.
“Then this trip is exactly what we need.”
Isaiah looked down at his phone. There were several missed calls, but he ignored them.
He knew exactly who had been calling.
Brooke.
He had been avoiding her for days.
Mariah noticed the notifications.
“Isaiah… you aren't going to answer?”
“No,” Isaiah replied quickly. “I'm done explaining myself.”
Mariah crossed her arms.
“You better be sure about that.”
Isaiah reached for her hand.
“I am.”
The boarding announcement suddenly came over the speakers.
“Passengers traveling to Philadelphia, please proceed to Gate 14 for boarding.”
Mariah grabbed her suitcase.
“That's us.”
Isaiah smiled.
“Let's go.”
They started walking toward the gate.
But just as Isaiah was about to scan his boarding pass, he heard someone shout his name from across the terminal.
“ISAIAH!”
He froze.
Mariah stopped walking.
Isaiah slowly turned around.
His face immediately changed.
Standing several yards away was someone he never expected to see.
Brooke.
She was standing there with tears in her eyes, holding a phone tightly in her hand.
Mariah looked at Isaiah.
“Who is that?”
Isaiah didn't answer.
Brooke walked closer.
“Isaiah, don't get on that plane!”
Everyone around them began looking over.
Isaiah shook his head.
“Brooke, what are you doing here?”
Brooke's voice trembled.
“I came because I found out the truth.”
Mariah stepped forward.
“What truth?”
Brooke looked directly at her.
“The truth about why Isaiah is really going to Philly.”
Isaiah immediately became nervous.
“Brooke, stop.”
But Brooke refused.
“No. I'm done protecting you.”
Mariah looked confused.
“What is she talking about?”
Isaiah grabbed Brooke's arm and pulled her slightly away from the crowd.
“Please don't do this here.”
Brooke pulled her arm away.
“You lied to me!”
Isaiah whispered, “Lower your voice.”
“No!”
Brooke raised her phone.
“You told everyone you were going to Philly for a trip. That's not the real reason, is it?”
Mariah stared at Isaiah.
“Isaiah?”
He didn't respond.
Brooke continued.
“I found messages on your phone. You weren't just planning a vacation.”
Mariah's expression changed.
“What messages?”
Isaiah tried to interrupt.
“Mariah, don't listen to her.”
Brooke unlocked her phone.
“I have screenshots.”
She held the phone up.
Mariah looked at the screen.
Her eyes widened.
Isaiah immediately reached for the phone.
“Give me that!”
Brooke stepped backward.
“No!”
The airport suddenly became silent around them.
Mariah looked at Isaiah.
“What's going on?”
Isaiah finally admitted that the trip wasn't as simple as he had made it sound.
“I was going to Philly to handle something.”
“Handle what?” Mariah demanded.
Isaiah hesitated.
Brooke answered for him.
“He was meeting someone.”
Mariah's face fell.
“Someone?”
Brooke nodded.
“And that person has information that could change everything.”
Isaiah looked furious.
“Brooke, you have no idea what you're talking about.”
“Then tell her!”
Isaiah stood silent.
Mariah slowly stepped away from him.
“You've been lying to me too?”
“No,” Isaiah said. “It's not like that.”
“Then what is it like?”
Before Isaiah could answer, another announcement echoed through the airport.
“Final boarding call for Philadelphia.”
Mariah looked toward the gate.
Then she looked back at Isaiah.
“Go.”
Isaiah looked shocked.
“What?”
“You wanted to go to Philly so badly.”
Mariah wiped a tear from her cheek.
“So go.”
Isaiah shook his head.
“I'm not leaving you here.”
Brooke suddenly spoke.
“You can't leave because you know what's waiting for you in Philly.”
Isaiah turned toward her.
“What do you mean?”
Brooke smiled sadly.
“You're about to find out.”
Suddenly, Brooke's phone began ringing.
She looked at the screen.
Her expression immediately changed.
“Hello?”
She listened for several seconds.
Then she slowly looked at Isaiah.
“She's here.”
Isaiah's face went pale.
“Who?”
Brooke didn't answer.
Mariah asked, “Who is here?”
Brooke lowered the phone.
“The person Isaiah was supposed to meet in Philly.”
Isaiah stared at her.
“That’s impossible.”
Brooke shook her head.
“No. She came here.”
Mariah looked around.
“Where?”
Brooke pointed toward the airport entrance.
Everyone turned.
A woman was walking toward them.
Isaiah couldn't believe his eyes.
He stepped backward.
“There's no way…”
Mariah looked at him.
“You know her?”
Isaiah swallowed hard.
“Yes.”
The woman continued walking closer.
Then she stopped directly in front of Isaiah.
Nobody spoke.
Finally, she looked at Mariah.
“I'm sorry you had to find out this way.”
Mariah's eyes filled with tears.
“Find out what?”
The woman looked at Isaiah.
“Tell her.”
Isaiah remained silent.
Mariah turned toward him.
“Tell me what?”
The woman finally revealed the shocking truth.
“Isaiah didn't book that flight because he wanted a vacation.”
She paused.
“He was coming to Philly because of me.”
Mariah's jaw dropped.
Brooke watched silently.
Isaiah looked completely trapped.
But then the woman added something nobody expected.
“And there's one more thing you need to know.”
Everyone stared at her.
She pulled an envelope from her purse.
Then she handed it to Mariah.
Mariah slowly opened it.
Her face changed as she read the first page.
“What is this?”
Isaiah immediately recognized the document.
“Don't read that!”
Mariah looked at him.
“Why?”
“Because you don't understand.”
She continued reading.
Then she looked up with tears in her eyes.
“You were never going to tell me, were you?”
Isaiah had no answer.
The airport announcement played again.
The Philadelphia flight was officially boarding.
But nobody moved.
Mariah closed the envelope.
“You're not getting on that plane with me.”
Isaiah stepped toward her.
“Mariah, please.”
She stepped backward.
“No.”
Brooke looked at Isaiah.
“For once, you need to face the consequences.”
Isaiah looked toward the departure gate.
Then at Mariah.
Then at the mysterious woman.
He realized his entire plan had collapsed in a matter of minutes.
But just when everyone thought the drama was over, the woman looked at Brooke and said:
“Actually… there's something I haven't told any of you.”
Brooke frowned.
“What?”
The woman took a deep breath.
“Isaiah isn't the only person involved.”
Everyone froze.
Mariah whispered:
“Then who else is involved?”
The woman looked directly at Brooke.
“You.”
Brooke's eyes widened.
“What?”
The woman smiled.
“And that's the real reason I came here.”
