Chapter 1 — The Envelope Arrives 📩
Bethany had just returned home when she noticed an envelope sitting on the table.
There was no name on the outside.
Confused, she picked it up and opened it.
The moment she saw the first page, her entire expression changed.
DIVORCE PETITION.
Bethany stopped breathing for a moment.
“Larry…”
She looked toward the hallway, hoping he would suddenly appear and explain that it was some kind of mistake.
But Larry wasn't there.
Bethany slowly went through the papers.
Every page made her more emotional.
Then she noticed something written on a small note attached to the documents:
“Larry wants you to read these before he talks to you.”
Bethany sat down.
She couldn't believe Larry had actually sent her divorce papers instead of speaking to her face-to-face.
But then her phone rang.
It was Larry.
Chapter 2 — “Did You Get The Papers?” 😱
Bethany answered.
“Larry, what is this?”
There was silence on the other end.
Finally, Larry said:
“Did you get the papers?”
Bethany's voice became shaky.
“Yes.”
“Then you know what I want.”
Bethany closed her eyes.
“You couldn't even tell me yourself?”
Larry sighed.
“I didn't know how to say it.”
Bethany looked at the papers again.
“So you decided a piece of paper could say it for you?”
Larry didn't respond.
Bethany became emotional.
“After everything we've been through?”
Larry finally said:
“I think we both know things haven't been the same.”
Bethany wiped her tears.
“Then come home and tell me that.”
Larry remained silent.
And that silence hurt Bethany more than the papers themselves.
Chapter 3 — Brooke Finds Out 💔
Brooke arrived home shortly afterward.
She immediately noticed Bethany sitting at the table.
“What's wrong?”
Bethany quickly tried to hide the documents.
But Brooke had already seen them.
“Is that… divorce paperwork?”
Bethany didn't answer.
Brooke walked closer.
“Larry sent you divorce papers?”
Bethany nodded.
Brooke couldn't believe it.
“Why would he do that?”
“I don't know.”
Brooke sat beside her.
“This isn't right.”
Bethany looked at Brooke.
“Maybe he's made his decision.”
Brooke shook her head.
“No. Something else is going on.”
Bethany looked confused.
“What makes you say that?”
Brooke pointed toward the envelope.
“Because Larry doesn't normally do things like this without a reason.”
Then Brooke noticed something.
“There are two envelopes.”
Bethany looked down.
She had only opened the first one.
A second envelope was hidden underneath the divorce papers.
Chapter 4 — The Second Envelope 😳
Bethany slowly picked up the second envelope.
“Why would Larry send this too?”
Brooke looked nervous.
“Open it.”
Bethany carefully opened it.
Inside was a single photograph.
It showed Larry standing outside an unfamiliar building.
Brooke stared at it.
“What's that place?”
Bethany shook her head.
“I don't know.”
There was also a handwritten note.
“Before you sign anything, ask Larry about this night.”
Bethany's expression changed.
“Who wrote this?”
Brooke examined the handwriting.
“This doesn't look like Larry's.”
Bethany immediately called him.
Larry answered.
“Bethany?”
“Did you send me another envelope?”
Larry paused.
“What envelope?”
Bethany and Brooke looked at each other.
Bethany slowly replied:
“The one with your picture.”
Larry became silent.
“I didn't send that.”
Chapter 5 — Larry Gets Worried 🚨
Larry immediately returned home.
When he walked through the door, he saw Bethany and Brooke sitting at the table.
The divorce papers were spread out in front of them.
Larry stopped.
“I didn't send that second envelope.”
Bethany stood up.
“But you sent the divorce papers.”
“Yes.”
“Then why was this photograph inside the package?”
Larry picked it up.
The moment he saw the photograph, his expression changed.
Brooke noticed.
“You know that place.”
Larry hesitated.
“I've seen it before.”
Bethany asked:
“Where?”
Larry looked at her.
“I went there because someone asked me to meet them.”
“Who?”
Larry didn't answer.
Brooke stepped forward.
“Dad, who?”
Larry finally said:
“I don't know.”
But Brooke immediately noticed something.
“That's not the truth.”
Larry looked at her.
Brooke pointed at the photograph.
“You recognize the person standing behind you.”
Everyone looked closer.
There was a blurry figure in the background.
Chapter 6 — Bethany Refuses To Sign 😡
Bethany picked up the divorce papers.
Larry watched her carefully.
“Bethany…”
She looked at him.
“You want me to sign these?”
Larry nodded slowly.
“But you don't even know what's happening.”
Larry became frustrated.
“Bethany, I can't keep living like this.”
She placed the papers back on the table.
“Then I'm not signing them tonight.”
Larry looked shocked.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
Bethany wiped her tears.
“If we're ending this, I'm going to know the truth first.”
Brooke stood beside her.
“I agree.”
Larry looked between them.
“You think I'm hiding something?”
Bethany answered:
“I think someone is hiding something.”
Suddenly, Brooke's phone buzzed.
She looked at the screen.
A message appeared:
“Don't let Bethany sign the papers.”
Brooke immediately showed Larry.
Larry's face became serious.
“Who sent that?”
Another message arrived.
“The divorce isn't what you think it is.”
Chapter 7 — Someone Has Been Watching Them 👀
Larry immediately locked the doors.
Nobody understood what was happening anymore.
Bethany asked:
“Who has been sending these messages?”
Larry shook his head.
“I don't know.”
Brooke looked at the photograph again.
“Maybe the person behind all of this has been watching our family.”
Charlotte suddenly arrived at the house.
She immediately noticed everyone's worried expressions.
“What happened?”
Bethany showed her the documents.
Charlotte's eyes widened.
“Larry actually sent these?”
“Yes.”
Charlotte looked at the second envelope.
“Where did you get that?”
Bethany answered:
“It came with the papers.”
Charlotte became unusually quiet.
Brooke noticed.
“You know something.”
Charlotte shook her head.
“No.”
But her expression said otherwise.
Bethany stepped closer.
“Charlotte, tell me.”
Charlotte finally whispered:
“I've seen that building before.”
Larry turned toward her.
“When?”
Charlotte looked down.
“Before Bethany left the house the last time.”
Everyone froze.
Chapter 8 — The Truth About The Meeting 😱🔥
Charlotte finally explained.
“Someone contacted me and told me Larry was meeting somebody there.”
Larry immediately asked:
“Who contacted you?”
“I don't know. It was an anonymous number.”
Bethany stared at Larry.
“So you were meeting someone there?”
Larry nodded.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Larry took a deep breath.
“They told me they had information about our family.”
Brooke asked:
“What information?”
Larry hesitated.
“Information that could change everything.”
Bethany became frustrated.
“And you never told me?”
“I didn't want to involve you.”
Bethany shook her head.
“You sent me divorce papers instead!”
Larry looked down.
“I thought ending things would protect you.”
Bethany stared at him.
“Protect me from what?”
Larry couldn't answer.
Then someone knocked on the front door.
Everyone went silent.
Larry slowly walked toward it.
Chapter 9 — The Person At The Door 🚨😱
Larry opened the door.
Nobody was standing outside.
But there was a small package on the doorstep.
Larry picked it up.
Inside was a USB drive.
There was another note:
“Play this before Bethany signs.”
Larry brought it inside.
Everyone gathered around the television.
He connected the USB.
A video appeared.
The footage showed Larry at the mysterious building.
But then something unexpected happened.
The video continued.
Larry wasn't alone.
Bethany leaned closer to the screen.
“Wait…”
The camera angle changed.
The person sitting across from Larry finally became visible.
Everyone gasped.
It was someone they recognized.
Brooke immediately stood up.
“No way…”
Larry stared at the screen.
Bethany looked at him.
“You knew this person?”
Larry shook his head.
“I didn't know they were involved.”
The video suddenly ended.
Then a final message appeared:
“Now ask Larry why he sent Bethany the divorce papers.”
Everyone turned toward Larry.
Chapter 10 — The Divorce Papers Were Never The Real Plan 😱💔🚨
Bethany stood in front of Larry.
“Tell me the truth.”
Larry looked exhausted.
“I sent those papers because I thought I could end the situation before it got worse.”
“What situation?”
Larry looked at Brooke.
Then at Bethany.
“The person I met told me that someone was trying to destroy our family.”
Bethany's eyes filled with tears.
“And you thought divorcing me would fix it?”
“I thought if we separated, you'd be safe.”
Bethany shook her head.
“You should have trusted me.”
Larry looked down.
“I know.”
Bethany picked up the divorce papers.
Everyone expected her to sign.
Instead, she slowly tore them in half.
Larry stared at her.
“What are you doing?”
Bethany looked at him.
“I'm not signing anything until we know who is behind all of this.”
Suddenly, Brooke's phone buzzed again.
She looked at the message.
Her face went completely pale.
Larry asked:
“What does it say?”
Brooke slowly turned the phone toward them.
The message read:
“Good. The divorce papers are gone. Now you’re finally ready to discover who really sent them.”
Then another message appeared:
“Check Larry's office.”
Everyone looked at Larry.
Larry whispered:
“My office?”
Brooke nodded.
And somewhere inside that office was apparently the evidence that could reveal the person who had been manipulating the entire family.
