Brooke woke up that morning with only one thing on her mind—Isaiah.
She believed they were supposed to travel to Philadelphia together. She had already packed her bag and was excited about the trip, hoping they could finally put all their recent problems behind them.
But when Brooke checked her phone, she noticed something strange.
Isaiah hadn't replied to any of her messages.
She called him.
No answer.
She called again.
Still nothing.
Brooke started getting nervous.
“Why isn't Isaiah answering me?”
She opened her messages one more time.
Then she saw it.
A message from someone telling her that Isaiah had already left for Philadelphia.
ALONE.
Brooke's heart sank.
“What?”
She immediately called Isaiah again.
This time, the call went straight to voicemail.
Brooke stared at her phone in disbelief.
“He left without me?”
She couldn't understand it.
They had talked about going to Philadelphia together. So why would Isaiah suddenly leave without telling her?
Brooke rushed downstairs, where Bethany was nearby.
“Bethany!”
Bethany looked up.
“What happened?”
“Isaiah left for Philadelphia.”
Bethany frowned.
“Without you?”
Brooke nodded as tears began forming in her eyes.
“I thought we were going together. I don't know why he would do this.”
Bethany tried to reassure her.
“Maybe something happened. Give him some time to explain.”
But Brooke was already overwhelmed.
“No! He promised me he wouldn't leave without telling me.”
She started crying harder.
“I trusted him.”
Bethany walked toward her.
“Brooke, please sit down.”
But Brooke suddenly grabbed her stomach.
“Bethany…”
“What?”
“I feel really dizzy.”
Bethany's face changed.
“Brooke?”
Brooke tried to take a step.
Then everything went black.
She collapsed.
“BROOKE!”
Bethany rushed to her and immediately called for help.
Within minutes, Brooke was taken to the hospital.
Bethany followed closely behind, terrified.
As Brooke was rushed into the emergency room, Bethany stood outside with tears in her eyes.
She couldn't stop thinking about what had happened.
First Isaiah left for Philadelphia alone.
Then Brooke suddenly collapsed.
“What is happening to my girl?” Bethany whispered.
After what seemed like forever, a doctor finally walked toward her.
“Are you here with Brooke?”
“Yes. Is she okay?”
The doctor nodded.
“She is stable now.”
Bethany breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thank God.”
But the doctor didn't leave.
“There is something else.”
Bethany immediately became worried.
“What?”
The doctor carefully explained that they had performed several tests to determine why Brooke had collapsed.
Then came the news Bethany never expected.
“Brooke is pregnant.”
Bethany froze.
“I'm sorry… what did you say?”
“She is pregnant.”
Bethany stared at the doctor in complete shock.
“Pregnant?”
The doctor nodded.
“Yes. The test confirmed it.”
Bethany slowly sat down.
Her mind went blank.
She thought about Brooke.
She thought about Isaiah.
And then she thought about the fact that Isaiah had just left for Philadelphia without knowing any of this.
Bethany covered her face.
“Oh my God…”
She was completely stunned.
After a few moments, Bethany went into Brooke's room.
Brooke slowly opened her eyes.
“Where am I?”
“The hospital.”
Brooke immediately remembered Isaiah.
“Bethany… why did I collapse?”
Bethany sat beside her and held her hand.
“There was a reason.”
Brooke looked worried.
“What happened?”
Bethany took a deep breath.
“The doctors ran some tests.”
Brooke waited.
Then Bethany finally said the words.
“Brooke… you're pregnant.”
Brooke's eyes widened.
“What?”
“You're pregnant.”
Brooke couldn't speak.
Tears immediately rolled down her cheeks.
“Are you sure?”
Bethany nodded.
“Yes.”
Brooke looked down at herself in disbelief.
Then her thoughts immediately went to Isaiah.
“Does he know?”
“No,” Bethany answered.
Brooke shook her head.
“He has no idea.”
Bethany squeezed her hand.
“And he needs to know.”
Brooke looked toward the window.
Isaiah was already on his way to Philadelphia.
She didn't know why he had left.
She didn't know what he was hiding.
And now she had a life-changing secret of her own.
Suddenly, Brooke's phone buzzed.
Both of them looked at the screen.
It was Isaiah.
Brooke hesitated before opening the message.
Finally, she tapped it.
The message said:
“Brooke, I'm sorry I left without telling you. I had to go to Philadelphia because something happened that I couldn't explain over the phone.”
Brooke's eyes filled with tears.
“What happened?”
Before Bethany could answer, another message appeared.
“Please don't hate me. When I get to Philadelphia, you'll understand why I had to leave.”
Brooke stared at the screen.
Bethany immediately became suspicious.
“Why would he leave like that?”
Brooke didn't know.
Then another notification appeared.
This time, it was a photo.
Brooke opened it.
Her expression instantly changed.
“Bethany…”
“What?”
Brooke handed her the phone.
Bethany looked at the picture.
She was stunned.
Whatever Isaiah had gone to Philadelphia for appeared to be much bigger than either of them had imagined.
Bethany looked at Brooke.
“You need to rest. We'll figure this out.”
But Brooke shook her head.
“No.”
“What?”
“I need to talk to Isaiah.”
Brooke wiped her tears.
“He needs to know about the baby.”
Bethany nodded.
But before Brooke could call him, Isaiah's phone suddenly went unanswered.
Brooke tried again.
Nothing.
She looked at Bethany with fear in her eyes.
“Why isn't he answering?”
Bethany had no answer.
And then Brooke received one final message.
“Don't tell anyone about the pregnancy yet. I need to explain everything first.”
Brooke stared at those words.
Her heart sank.
“Why would Isaiah say that?”
Bethany didn't know what to think.
One thing was certain—the trip to Philadelphia had suddenly become much more complicated.
Brooke was pregnant.
Isaiah was gone.
And there was a secret in Philadelphia that could completely change their future.
But when Isaiah finally finds out that Brooke is pregnant, will he rush back to her—or will the truth about why he left Philadelphia alone leave Brooke completely heartbroken?
