Destiny had been spending time with Larry and Bethany when she suddenly began to feel extremely unwell.
At first, she tried to hide it.
“I’m fine,” she quietly said.
But Bethany immediately noticed something was wrong.
Destiny looked weak and struggled to remain steady.
“Destiny, sit down,” Bethany said with concern.
Larry rushed over.
“What happened?”
Destiny tried to answer, but her condition quickly worsened.
Within moments, panic filled the room.
Larry realized they couldn't wait any longer.
“We have to get her to the hospital!”
Bethany grabbed her things as Larry helped Destiny toward the car.
Neither of them knew how serious the situation was about to become.
Chapter 2 — Larry Refuses to Waste Another Second
Larry drove as quickly and safely as possible toward the hospital.
Bethany sat beside Destiny, trying to keep her calm.
“Stay with us, Destiny.”
Destiny opened her eyes.
“I’m trying.”
Larry became increasingly worried.
He kept looking at them through the mirror.
“We’re almost there.”
Bethany held Destiny's hand.
“You're going to be okay.”
But Bethany was terrified.
The more she looked at Destiny, the more frightened she became.
When they finally arrived, Larry immediately called for help.
Hospital staff quickly brought Destiny inside.
Larry and Bethany were left standing outside the treatment area.
The waiting had begun.
Chapter 3 — The Longest Wait
Minutes felt like hours.
Larry paced back and forth.
Bethany sat quietly with her hands together.
Neither of them could stop worrying.
“What if something is seriously wrong?” Bethany asked.
Larry tried to remain hopeful.
“Let's wait for the doctor.”
Bethany looked toward the treatment room.
“I should have noticed sooner.”
Larry sat beside her.
“This isn't your fault.”
But Bethany couldn't stop blaming herself.
Larry knew he had to remain strong.
Then the doctor finally walked toward them.

The doctor asked Larry and Bethany about Destiny's recent symptoms.
“When did she first start feeling unwell?”
Bethany tried to remember.
“She said she wasn't feeling right earlier.”
The doctor asked whether anything unusual had happened recently.
Larry and Bethany exchanged worried looks.
There had been stress, arguments, and emotional problems.
But they didn't know whether any of that was connected.
The doctor told them that Destiny was receiving medical care and further tests were needed.
Larry asked:
“Is she going to be okay?”
The doctor paused.
That brief silence terrified them both.
“We need more information before we can answer that.”
Chapter 5 — Bethany Breaks Down
Bethany couldn't hold back her emotions anymore.
She began crying.
“What if we lose her?”
Larry immediately held her.
“Don't say that.”
Bethany looked at him.
“You don't know what's going to happen.”
Larry was also terrified.
But he refused to let fear take over.
“We're going to be here for her.”
Bethany nodded.
The two of them sat together.
Despite all their own problems, nothing seemed important anymore.
The only thing they cared about was Destiny.
Then a nurse came toward them.
Chapter 6 — Destiny Asks for Them
The nurse told them that Destiny had briefly regained consciousness.
“She asked for both of you.”
Larry and Bethany immediately followed the nurse.
Destiny looked exhausted.
Bethany held her hand.
“We're here.”
Destiny looked at Larry.
“I'm scared.”
Larry became emotional.
“You're not alone.”
Bethany promised that neither of them would leave her.
Destiny closed her eyes again.
The doctors asked them to step outside so treatment could continue.
Larry and Bethany reluctantly left.
But the moment they returned to the waiting area, the doctor came back.
This time, his expression was completely different.
Chapter 7 — The Words That Break Them Both
Larry immediately stood up.
“What's happening?”
The doctor spoke carefully.
“Destiny's condition is more serious than we initially believed.”
Bethany felt her legs weaken.
Larry held her arm.
“What do you mean?”
The doctor explained that Destiny needed continued monitoring and additional treatment.
Bethany began crying.
“Can she recover?”
The doctor reassured them that the medical team was doing everything possible, but the situation needed to be taken seriously.
Larry felt completely helpless.
For the first time, his voice broke.
“Please take care of her.”
The doctor nodded.
“We are.”
Chapter 8 — A Difficult Night
Larry and Bethany refused to leave the hospital.
They spent the entire night waiting for updates.
Bethany kept looking at the clock.
Larry kept walking toward the treatment area.
Neither of them could sleep.
At one point, Bethany said:
“I wish I could trade places with her.”
Larry looked at her.
“I know.”
They both regretted every argument and every moment they had wasted worrying about smaller problems.
Suddenly, Destiny's condition changed again.
A nurse rushed past them.
Larry and Bethany immediately stood up.
“What happened?”
But nobody could tell them anything yet.
The waiting continued.
Chapter 9 — A Glimmer of Hope
Finally, a doctor returned.
Larry and Bethany immediately rushed toward him.
“Please tell us something.”
The doctor explained that Destiny had responded to the latest treatment.
Bethany began crying again.
But this time, there was hope.
“So she's improving?”
“She's showing encouraging signs, but she still needs careful monitoring.”
Larry closed his eyes in relief.
He looked at Bethany.
“We're not leaving.”
Bethany nodded.
When they were allowed to see Destiny again, she opened her eyes.
Larry smiled.
“There's my girl.”
Bethany held her hand.
Destiny whispered:
“I heard you.”
Bethany began crying.
Chapter 10 — The Final Update
The next morning, Larry and Bethany waited anxiously for the doctor.
They had barely slept.
Finally, the doctor arrived.
Larry immediately asked:
“Tell us the truth.”
The doctor explained that Destiny was stable and showing signs of improvement.
But she would need time, rest, and continued medical care.
Bethany burst into tears.
Larry hugged her.
The doctor then looked toward Destiny's room.
“She has a long road ahead, but she's fighting.”
Larry whispered:
“That's all I needed to hear.”
Bethany looked through the hospital window.
Destiny opened her eyes and saw them.
For the first time since the nightmare began, she smiled.
But just as Larry and Bethany began feeling relieved, Larry received a phone call.
His expression suddenly changed.
Bethany immediately asked:
“What is it?”
Larry slowly lowered his phone.
He looked toward Destiny's room.
“I think something else is about to happen.”
