What Happened After Larry and Bethany’s Argument? Brooke Suddenly Couldn’t Open the Door!

The morning had started like any other.

Brooke was getting ready for college, checking her bag one last time and making sure she had everything she needed. Her books were packed, her phone was fully charged, and she was already running a few minutes late.

But downstairs, something completely different was happening.

Larry and Bethany were having a heated argument.

Brooke could hear their voices from upstairs.

At first, she tried to ignore them.

She had heard them argue before, and she didn't want to get involved. She put her final notebook into her bag and walked toward the bedroom door.

Then she heard Larry say something that made her stop.

“Bethany, this can't continue!”

Brooke froze.

Bethany immediately responded, “You don't understand what I'm trying to tell you!”

“I understand perfectly,” Larry said. “But you're making everything worse.”

Brooke stood silently outside her room, listening.

She didn't know what the argument was about, but she could tell that Larry was extremely frustrated.

Then Bethany said something that made Brooke's heart sink.

“Maybe Brooke shouldn't go to college today.”

Brooke's eyes widened.

“Why are they talking about me?” she whispered.

She grabbed the doorknob and tried to open the door.

Nothing happened.

She tried again.

Still nothing.

Brooke frowned.

“What?”

She turned the handle harder.

The door wouldn't open.

“Dad?”

No answer.

She tried again.

“Larry!”

Downstairs, the argument continued.

Brooke began to panic.

“Why won't this door open?”

She checked the lock.

It wasn't locked.

She pulled the handle repeatedly, but the door seemed completely stuck.

“Larry!” she shouted louder.

This time, Larry heard her.

He immediately stopped arguing with Bethany.

“Was that Brooke?”

Bethany looked toward the stairs.

“I think so.”

Larry rushed upstairs.

“Brooke?”

“Dad! I can't open my door!”

Larry reached the bedroom and tried the handle himself.

It wouldn't move.

“Stand back,” he told her.

He tried pulling the door open.

Nothing.

He pushed.

Nothing.

Larry looked confused.

“That's strange.”

Brooke's voice trembled.

“I'm trapped in here.”

“Don't worry. I'll get you out.”

Bethany came upstairs behind him.

“What happened?”

Larry looked at her.

“The door is stuck.”

Bethany's expression suddenly changed.

“Stuck?”

“Yes.”

Larry tried the handle again.

Brooke stepped away from the door.

“Is something wrong?”

Larry didn't want to frighten her.

“No. Just stay calm.”

But Brooke could hear the concern in his voice.

Then Larry noticed something.

The hinges were fine.

The lock wasn't engaged.

But the door still wouldn't open.

“Something is blocking it from the other side,” he said.

Brooke looked frightened.

“What could be blocking it?”

Larry didn't answer.

He called for help.

A few minutes later, he managed to force the door open.

Brooke immediately stepped into the hallway.

She looked relieved.

Larry hugged her.

“Are you okay?”

Brooke nodded.

“But why was the door stuck?”

Larry looked toward Bethany.

Bethany remained silent.

Brooke noticed.

“Why are you looking at her?”

Larry shook his head.

“It's nothing.”

But Brooke wasn't convinced.

She looked at Bethany.

“Did something happen while you and Dad were arguing?”

Bethany hesitated.

“No.”

Brooke stared at her.

“Then why did you say I shouldn't go to college?”

Bethany didn't respond.

Larry finally stepped in.

“Brooke, you need to get ready. We'll talk about this later.”

But Brooke wasn't satisfied.

“Everyone keeps telling me not to worry, but nobody is telling me what's happening!”

Her voice cracked.

Larry realized how frightened she was.

He gently placed his hand on her shoulder.

“I'm sorry. You shouldn't have had to hear all of that.”

Brooke wiped away a tear.

“I just wanted to go to college.”

Larry nodded.

“And you will.”

Bethany suddenly interrupted.

“Larry, maybe we should tell her.”

Larry looked at her.

“Tell her what?”

Bethany took a deep breath.

“The reason I didn't want Brooke leaving today.”

Brooke looked between them.

“What reason?”

The hallway went completely silent.

Larry's expression became serious.

Bethany finally said, “There was a phone call this morning.”

Brooke's heart began racing.

“What kind of phone call?”

Larry looked at Bethany.

“You said we shouldn't tell her until we knew everything.”

“I know,” Bethany replied. “But she deserves to know why we're worried.”

Brooke stepped closer.

“Why are you worried about me?”

Larry sighed.

“We received information about something that happened at college.”

Brooke's face went pale.

“What happened?”

Before Larry could answer, his phone suddenly rang.

He looked at the screen.

His expression immediately changed.

It was the same number that had called earlier.

Larry answered.

“Hello?”

Everyone became silent.

Larry listened for several seconds.

Then his face turned pale.

Brooke immediately noticed.

“Dad?”

Larry didn't respond.

The caller continued speaking.

Finally, Larry said quietly:

“Are you sure?”

He listened again.

Then he ended the call.

Brooke stared at him.

“What did they say?”

Larry looked at Brooke.

For several seconds, he couldn't find the words.

Bethany stepped closer.

“Larry?”

He finally spoke.

“They just confirmed it.”

Brooke's voice trembled.

“Confirmed what?”

Larry took a deep breath.

“The college has been dealing with a serious situation, and your name was mentioned.”

Brooke's eyes widened.

“My name?”

Larry nodded.

“But we don't know the whole story yet.”

Brooke immediately reached for her phone.

“I need to call them.”

Larry stopped her.

“Not yet.”

“Why?”

“Because we need to find out exactly what's happening before you go anywhere.”

Brooke looked toward the bedroom door—the same door that had trapped her moments earlier.

Suddenly, the entire morning felt different.

What had started as a simple argument between Larry and Bethany had turned into something much bigger.

And Brooke couldn't stop thinking about one question:

Was the door really stuck by accident… or was someone trying to keep her from leaving the house?

Larry looked at the door and then at Bethany.

His expression became serious.

“I'm going to find out what happened.”

Brooke nodded nervously.

But none of them realized that the truth was much closer than they thought.

And when Larry finally discovered who had been behind the mysterious incident, the entire family would be left speechless.
