Breaking,“Brooke fails her final driving test, Larry blames Bethany, and in anger things spiral out of control at the DMV—Larry slaps Bethany and the situation turns worse."
It was supposed to be one of the happiest days of Brooke's life. After weeks of practicing, studying road signs, and spending countless hours behind the wheel, she was finally taking her final driving test. Everyone hoped she would pass and earn her driver's license.
Larry, Bethany, and Brooke arrived at the DMV early that morning. Brooke looked nervous, but Bethany tried her best to encourage her.
"Don't worry," Bethany said with a smile. "You've worked hard for this. Just stay calm and do your best."
Larry nodded in agreement. "You've got this, Brooke."
A short while later, Brooke's name was called, and she headed out with the examiner. The waiting room felt unusually quiet as Larry and Bethany waited for news.
Nearly thirty minutes later, Brooke returned. The look on her face said everything before she even spoke.
"I didn't pass," she whispered.
Larry immediately stood up.
"What happened?"
Brooke explained that she had made a few mistakes during the test and the examiner decided she wasn't ready yet.
Tears filled her eyes. She had been so confident this time.
Bethany stepped forward and gave her a hug.
"It's okay. Lots of people don't pass the first time. You'll get another chance."
But Larry wasn't taking the news well.
His frustration quickly started growing.
"This never would have happened if she'd had more practice!" he said angrily.
Bethany looked surprised.
"What are you talking about?"
"You were supposed to help her prepare more!"
Bethany shook her head.
"Brooke worked hard. Sometimes these things happen."
Instead of calming down, Larry became even more upset. Other people in the waiting area started noticing the argument.
Brooke repeatedly told them to stop.
"Please, this isn't helping."
But emotions were running high.
Larry continued blaming Bethany for Brooke's failed test while Bethany defended herself, insisting that Brooke's result wasn't anyone's fault.
The argument became louder and louder until several DMV employees began watching from nearby counters.
Brooke stood in the middle, feeling embarrassed and heartbroken.
"This is my test," she cried. "Why are you fighting about me?"
Her words finally caused both Larry and Bethany to pause.
The reality of the situation hit them.
Brooke wasn't upset about failing anymore—she was upset because the people she cared about were turning against each other.
A DMV supervisor approached and politely asked everyone to lower their voices.
The tension remained, but the argument finally stopped.
Outside the building, Brooke sat quietly on a bench.
After a few minutes, Larry walked over.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I let my frustration get the better of me."
Bethany joined them and nodded.
"We're supposed to support Brooke, not make things harder for her."
Brooke wiped away her tears.
"So can we please stop arguing?"
Both adults agreed.
Then Larry smiled at Brooke.
"You know what? One failed test doesn't define you."
Bethany added, "We'll practice again and come back stronger."
For the first time that day, Brooke smiled.
The disappointment was still there, but she knew she wasn't alone.
And as the three of them left together, Brooke made a promise to herself:
The next time she walked into that DMV, she would be ready—and this setback would only make her success even sweeter.
