Brooke sat on the examination bed clutching a tissue tightly in her hand while Sharra stood beside her trying to keep her calm. The air felt heavy, like everyone already knew something life-changing was about to happen.

Larry paced across the room with frustration written all over his face.

And Isaiah?

He stood near the door, nervous and unusually quiet.

Nobody had expected the day to spiral this far out of control.

Just one hour earlier, Brooke had finally admitted she’d been feeling sick for weeks. At first, everyone assumed it was stress or exhaustion. But when Sharra discovered a pregnancy kit hidden deep inside Brooke’s bag, panic spread instantly.

Larry demanded answers.

Brooke cried.

And Isaiah suddenly stopped making eye contact with everyone.

That silence alone made Larry suspicious.

Now all of them sat waiting for the doctor to return with Brooke’s results.

The clock on the wall ticked louder with every passing second.

The doctor walked back into the room holding a folder.

Her expression immediately made Brooke nervous.

He slowly turned toward Isaiah.

“DON’T lie to me!” Larry yelled, stepping closer. “The way you’ve been acting all week… you knew something!”

Brooke tried to interrupt through tears.

“Please stop—”

But Larry was too angry to listen.

“You sat there acting innocent while everybody else was confused?!” he shouted at Isaiah. “How long have you known?!”

Isaiah rubbed his forehead nervously, clearly overwhelmed.

“I found out Brooke was scared a few days ago,” he admitted quietly. “But she begged me not to tell anyone yet.”

That confession only made Larry angrier.

 “So you DID know!”

Sharra quickly stepped between them before the argument became physical.

“This is not helping Brooke right now!” she snapped.

But emotions inside the room were already spiraling out of control.

Brooke sobbed harder as Larry turned away in frustration, pacing near the window while trying to process everything happening.

Then suddenly…

The doctor cleared her throat again.

“There’s something else,” she said carefully.

Everyone looked back at her.

The doctor opened the folder and pointed to additional notes from Brooke’s examination.

“Based on Brooke’s symptoms and early evaluation,” the doctor explained slowly, “there are concerns about her stress levels and overall health right now. Emotional pressure could seriously affect her condition.”

The room fell silent again.

Even Larry’s anger faded for a moment.

Brooke looked emotionally drained.

Isaiah slowly walked closer to her side.

“I never wanted her to go through this alone,” he said quietly.
