The soft sound of romantic music played from Bethany’s phone while she carefully folded Larry’s white linen shirts for their long-awaited couples trip to Turks and Caicos.

For the first time in weeks, Bethany actually looked happy.

She smiled while placing matching sunglasses into Larry’s suitcase and whispered to herself,

“Maybe this trip will save us…”

She had planned everything perfectly — oceanfront villa, candlelight dinners, yacht excursions, even a surprise anniversary setup on the beach. She spent days making reservations and secretly hoped the vacation would fix the distance growing between them.

But deep down, Bethany could already feel Larry pulling away.
