The ballroom sparkled with gold lights, crystal chandeliers, and hundreds of elegant guests dressed in black-tie outfits. Cameras flashed everywhere as celebrities, friends, and family filled the massive charity gala. But nobody in the room knew Larry had been hiding a life-changing secret all night. 

At the center of the crowd stood Jade, glowing in a breathtaking silver gown. She smiled politely as guests complimented her, but deep down, she felt nervous. Larry had been acting strange the entire evening — disappearing for random phone calls, whispering to staff members, and constantly checking the time on his watch.

Finally, Jade walked over to him.

“You’ve been suspicious all night,” she teased softly. “What are you hiding?”

Larry smiled nervously. “Just trust me a little longer.”

That answer only made her more curious. 

A few minutes later, the lights inside the ballroom suddenly dimmed. The soft music stopped. Everyone turned toward the giant stage at the front of the room.

“What’s happening?” guests whispered.

Then Larry slowly walked onto the stage alone. 

The crowd instantly erupted with applause, assuming he was about to give a speech for the charity event. But Larry looked unusually emotional. His hands were shaking as he adjusted the microphone.

Jade watched from the crowd, completely confused.

“Good evening, everyone,” Larry began quietly. “Tonight was supposed to be about celebration… but there’s something else I need to do.”

The room fell silent.

Larry’s eyes searched through the crowd until they landed directly on Jade. 

The second she realized he was talking about her, her heart started racing.

“Jade,” Larry said softly into the microphone, “would you come up here for a second?”

Gasps spread across the ballroom as every camera instantly pointed toward her. 

Jade looked frozen.

Her friends pushed her gently forward while whispering excitedly.

“Oh my God… go!”

With trembling hands, Jade slowly walked toward the stage while the crowd clapped louder and louder. She could barely breathe.

The moment she reached Larry, she whispered nervously:

“What are you doing?”

Larry took both of her hands into his.

“For a long time,” he said emotionally, “I kept running from happiness because I was scared. Scared of failing. Scared of trusting someone again. But then you walked into my life.”

Jade’s eyes instantly filled with tears.

Larry continued speaking as the entire ballroom listened silently.

“You stayed beside me during my worst moments. You believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. And somehow… you made me feel alive again.”

The crowd let out soft emotional reactions. 

Jade was already crying.

Larry smiled at her lovingly before reaching into his jacket pocket.

The entire room gasped immediately. 

“No way…” someone whispered.

Larry slowly pulled out a small diamond ring box and got down on one knee right there in front of EVERYONE. Cameras flashed wildly across the ballroom.

Jade covered her mouth in total shock.

Tears streamed down her face as Larry looked up at her with trembling eyes.

“Jade… every moment with you feels like home,” he said. “And I don’t want another day without you by my side.”

The room became completely silent.

Then Larry opened the ring box, revealing a massive sparkling diamond that left guests speechless. 

“Will you marry me?”

The entire ballroom exploded into screams before Jade could even answer. 

People stood up from their tables, holding phones in the air while recording the unbelievable moment.

Jade couldn’t stop crying.

“Oh my God…” she whispered over and over.

Larry looked nervous for the first time all night.

“Well?” he asked with a shaky laugh.

For a few emotional seconds, Jade said nothing. She simply stared at him while tears rolled down her cheeks.

Then finally…

“Yes!” 

The crowd ERUPTED.

Guests screamed, clapped, and cheered as Jade dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around Larry tightly. The violinists suddenly began playing romantic music while confetti exploded from the ceiling above them. 

Larry slipped the ring onto her finger as the ballroom continued celebrating around them.

But then something shocking happened. 

As Larry stood up to kiss Jade, a loud voice suddenly echoed from the back of the ballroom.

“STOP THIS WEDDING!” 

The music instantly stopped.

Everyone turned toward the entrance in shock.

And standing there… was Bethany. 

Her mascara was smeared from crying, and her hands were trembling as she stared directly at Larry and Jade on stage.

“You can’t marry her,” Bethany said emotionally. “Because there’s something Jade hasn’t told you…”

The entire ballroom gasped.

Jade’s face turned completely pale.

Larry looked confused. “What are you talking about?”

Bethany slowly pulled out her phone.

“What I’m about to show you,” she whispered, “changes everything.”
