Bethany couldn’t sleep after Larry walked out of the house.

The silence inside the living room felt unbearable. The broken picture frame still lay on the floor beside the unopened envelope containing the pregnancy test results. Every few seconds, Bethany replayed the moment Larry pushed her away and left for Vegas without even looking back.

But something didn’t feel right.

Larry’s behavior had been strange for weeks. The secret phone calls. The late-night texts. The sudden obsession with “needing space.” And then tonight… the way he rushed out the door like he couldn’t wait to leave her behind.

Bethany wiped her tears and looked down at Larry’s forgotten tablet sitting on the couch.

“You really think she believed you were going with just the guys?” Lynette smirked.

Larry sighed heavily. “I didn’t want another argument before the trip.”

“Well,” Lynette replied while adjusting her hair, “you definitely got one anyway.”

Before Larry could answer—

“LARRYYY!!”

Both of them turned around instantly.

Bethany came running through the terminal, completely out of breath, tears streaming down her face as people stopped to stare.

Larry’s face went pale.

“Bethany?!” he said in shock.

Lynette’s smile disappeared immediately.

Bethany looked directly at Lynette… then back at Larry.

“You lied to me,” she whispered painfully.

Larry quickly stepped forward. “It’s not what you think.”

“Oh REALLY?!” Bethany yelled loudly, causing nearby travelers to pull out their phones. “Then explain why SHE is here!”

Lynette crossed her arms defensively.

“Calm down, Bethany.”

“DON’T tell me to calm down!” Bethany snapped. “You’ve been around my husband nonstop, and now you’re flying to Vegas together behind my back?!”

People nearby began whispering.

Larry looked stressed as security guards started watching the scene.

“Bethany, listen to me,” Larry said firmly. “This trip was business-related too. Lynette was invited with the group.”

Bethany laughed bitterly through tears.

“So you couldn’t take your WIFE… but you could take HER?”

Larry opened his mouth but couldn’t answer fast enough.

That silence hurt Bethany more than anything.

Lynette suddenly stepped forward.

“You know what?” she said coldly. “Maybe Larry wanted peace for once. Every time he’s around you lately, it’s drama.”

Bethany’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Excuse me?”

“You heard me,” Lynette replied. “You push him away with all this crying and controlling behavior.”

Larry immediately looked uncomfortable.

“Lynette, stop—”

“No!” Bethany shouted. “You don’t get to speak on my marriage!”

The argument became louder and louder.

Travelers stopped walking just to watch the chaos unfold near the terminal entrance.
