Brooke was sitting at the dining table, barely touching her food. Larry noticed it first.

“You okay?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Bethany, standing in the kitchen, glanced over. “You’ve been acting weird all day.”

“I said I’m fine,” Brooke replied quickly—but her voice didn’t sound convincing.

A few seconds later…

Brooke suddenly froze.

Her hand slowly moved to her stomach.

Her face turned pale.

“Brooke?” Larry said, his tone shifting instantly.

Then it happened.

“Ahhh!” Brooke cried out in pain, clutching her stomach tightly.

Her chair screeched as she pushed back, nearly falling to the floor.

“BROOKE!” Bethany screamed, rushing toward her.
