The night was unusually quiet… too quiet.

Larry had just walked into the house, his mind already heavy after a long day. But something felt off. His phone buzzed again and again—missed calls from Jaden, unread messages piling up. His heart started racing.

“Why would Jaden be calling me this much?” he muttered.

He quickly called back.

“Larry!!” Jaden’s voice was shaking. “They took Mom… the police took Lynette!”

Larry froze. “What?! What are you talking about?!”

“They said… they said there was a complaint… something serious… and Bethany’s name came up…”

Before Jaden could finish, Larry hung up.

His face turned pale… then red with anger.

“Bethany…”

Without wasting a second, Larry stormed out of the house, slammed his car door, and drove straight to Bethany’s place. His grip on the steering wheel tightened with every passing second.

“This better not be true…” he whispered.

Larry pounded on Bethany’s door like a man possessed.

Bethany opened the door, startled. “Larry? What are you—”

“DON’T play dumb with me!” Larry shouted, pushing the door open and stepping inside.

Bethany stepped back, shocked. “What is wrong with you?!”

“What did you do?!” Larry yelled. “Lynette got arrested… and your name is all over it!”

Bethany’s face changed instantly. For a split second… guilt flashed in her eyes.

“I—I don’t know what you’re talking about—”

“STOP LYING!” Larry roared. “Jaden told me everything! The complaint… the report… YOU were behind it!”

Bethany crossed her arms, trying to stay calm. “Maybe she deserved it.”

That was it.

Larry lost it.

“DESERVED IT?!” he shouted, his voice echoing through the house. “You had Lynette ARRESTED?! Are you out of your mind?!”

“She ruined my life first!” Bethany snapped back. “You think she’s innocent? You don’t know the things she’s done!”

“I don’t care what you THINK she did!” Larry fired back. “You don’t destroy someone’s life like this! You don’t call the POLICE on someone out of spite!”

Bethany laughed bitterly. “Oh please, Larry. Don’t act like you’re some saint. You’ve been choosing her over me for months!”

Larry stepped closer, pointing his finger at her. “This isn’t about me! This is about YOU crossing a line you can’t come back from!”

The tension was unbearable.

“You’ve gone too far, Bethany…” Larry said, his voice now cold, filled with disappointment. “This time… you really messed up.”

Bethany’s eyes watered, but she refused to back down. “If you walk out that door… don’t come back.”

Larry didn’t even hesitate.

He turned around.

“After what you did?” he said without looking back. “I’m done.”

And just like that… he walked out.

As Larry drove off into the night, his mind was racing—not with anger anymore, but with worry.

Lynette was in jail.

Bethany had crossed a dangerous line.
