Across the parking area, near a black SUV, Larry stood beside two suitcases. His face looked calm, but inside he had already made a decision he refused to change.

“Our flight boards in thirty minutes,” he said quietly.

Destiny shifted her backpack on her shoulder. “Are you sure this is the right thing, Dad?”

Larry nodded slowly.

“Yes. It’s time we get some space from all the chaos.”

“LARRY!!”

Bethany’s voice echoed across the parking lot.
