Larry’s Asked Bethany: “If Sharra Lets You Stay in Her House… Will You Forgive Her?” What Bethany Said..😱
The house was unnaturally quiet that evening. No TV. No phone buzzing. Just the ticking of the wall clock, loud enough to feel like a countdown. Bethany sat on the edge of the couch, arms crossed tightly, staring at the floor. Larry stood near the window, his back half-turned, struggling to find the right words.
This wasn’t just another argument.
This was a test.
Larry finally broke the silence.
“Bethany…” he said softly. “I need to ask you something. And I need you to answer honestly.”
Bethany didn’t look up. “Go ahead,” she replied, her voice calm—but cold.
Larry swallowed hard. “If Sharra… if she lets you stay in her house… would you forgive her?”
The moment the words left his mouth, the air changed.
Bethany’s head snapped up. Her eyes widened—not in surprise, but in disbelief. For a few seconds, she just stared at him, like she couldn’t believe he had the nerve to ask that question.
“You’re serious?” she asked slowly.
Larry nodded. “I’m just trying to fix things. We’re all tired of fighting. Maybe this could be a fresh start.”
Bethany stood up.
“A fresh start?” she repeated, laughing bitterly. “Larry, do you even hear yourself?”
She began pacing the room, her emotions finally spilling over. “Sharra didn’t just insult me. She humiliated me. She body-shamed me. She tried to turn you against me. And now you’re asking if a roof over my head is enough to erase all that?”
Larry tried to interrupt, but Bethany raised her hand.
“No. Let me finish.”
Her voice trembled—not with weakness, but with rage held in for too long. “Forgiveness doesn’t come with conditions. And it sure doesn’t come with a house key.”
Larry looked torn. “I just thought… maybe if she showed some generosity—”
Bethany cut him off again. “That wouldn’t be generosity. That would be control.”
She stopped pacing and looked him straight in the eyes. “If Sharra truly wants forgiveness, she needs to apologize. Publicly. Honestly. Without excuses. Not hide behind favors.”
The room went silent again.
Larry sighed. “So that’s a no?”
Bethany took a deep breath. When she spoke again, her voice was calm—but deadly serious.
“I would forgive her,” she said slowly, “not because she lets me stay in her house… but because she admits she was wrong.”
Larry blinked. He hadn’t expected that.
“And until that happens,” Bethany continued, “I’d rather sleep anywhere else than accept peace that comes with strings attached.”
Those words hit Larry harder than any shouting ever could.
Just then, Larry’s phone buzzed on the table.
A message from Sharra.
Larry looked at the screen… then at Bethany.
“What is it?” Bethany asked.
Larry hesitated. “She says… ‘Tell Bethany the offer still stands.’”
Bethany let out a slow, controlled breath.
“Tell her this,” Bethany said firmly.
“I don’t need her house. I need her respect.”
Larry typed the message. His hands were shaking.
As he hit send, he realized something painful but clear:
This wasn’t about where Bethany would stay.
This was about who he was choosing to stand beside.
