.Y.BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Larry snaps at Bethany — ‘You called the police on Destiny? Why would you do that?’ 😳💥

BREAKING NEWS: The Confrontation Nobody Saw Coming

“You called the police on Destiny? Why would you do that?!”

Larry’s voice cracked like thunder through the living room, vibrating off the picture frames and shaking the half-empty mug on the coffee table. Bethany froze mid-step, her fingers still wrapped around her phone, cheeks flushed pink like she’d been caught stealing the moon.

Destiny—silent, stiff, and furious—stood near the kitchen doorway, arms crossed so tight it looked like she was holding herself together out of sheer will.

The atmosphere could’ve been bottled and sold as Premium Anxiety™.

Chapter 1 — The Phone Call Nobody Expected

Five minutes earlier, everything had been normal.

Well—normal for them.
Which meant Destiny pacing the kitchen ranting about the HOA, Larry trying to fix the dishwasher with a questionable YouTube tutorial, and Bethany scrolling through neighborhood gossip forums like they were sacred scripture.

But then the doorbell rang.

Three sharp knocks.

And the next thing they knew, two uniformed police officers were standing on the porch asking,

“Is there a Disturbance of a Domestic Nature here?”

Destiny’s jaw dropped.
Larry nearly swallowed a screwdriver.
Bethany gasped like she’d been asked to solve a murder.

The officers apologized and left when they realized nothing was wrong—but the damage was already done.

Destiny stormed into the living room.
Larry behind her.
And Bethany… trailing, guilty as a smudged receipt.

Chapter 2 — Larry Loses It

“Bethany,” Larry said, trying to breathe but sounding like a winded bull,
“You called the police on Destiny? Why would you do that?”

Bethany stammered.

“I—I didn’t mean to—well—I kind of did, but not like that!”

Destiny’s eyes narrowed.
“Not like what, Bethany? Not like calling the cops on your best friend for existing in the same house as you?!”

Bethany clutched her phone like it could shield her from the fury.

“It wasn’t about you, Destiny! I just— I saw a post on the neighborhood board and— and— I panicked!”

Larry blinked. “What post?”

Bethany winced. “Someone said they heard yelling coming from our house and were worried… so I… um… decided to ‘preemptively’ call it in before they did.”

“You reported your own house?!” Destiny exploded.

“It sounded responsible at the time!!” Bethany squeaked.

Chapter 3 — The Real Trigger

Larry ran both hands through his hair. “Beth—why would anyone think there was yelling? We weren’t yelling.”

Destiny suddenly stopped.
Her face shifted.
“Oh… my god.”

Larry and Bethany turned.

“You know what it was?” Destiny said. “It was that stupid motivational podcast Larry plays when he works on the dishwasher. The one with the guy who screams affirmations.”

Larry perked up. “Hey—he’s inspiring!”

“He shouted ‘CONQUER YOUR INNER DEMON!’ at full volume,” Destiny said. “Through the open window.”

Bethany slapped her hands over her face.
“Oh no… oh no no no… I thought it was YOU two yelling at each other!”

Destiny groaned.
Larry groaned louder.
Bethany tried to sink into the carpet like a guilty ghost.

Chapter 4 — The Twist Nobody Saw Coming

Just when the tension reached nuclear-meltdown levels…
there was another knock on the door.

Slow. Heavy.

Larry opened it cautiously.

Standing there was the HOA president, Mrs. Pennington—tiny, ancient, and terrifying like a garden gnome that ran on spite instead of electricity.

“I heard police were called,” she said, adjusting her binoculars. “I need to file an incident report.”

Destiny massaged her temples. “Mrs. Pennington, everything is fine.”

Mrs. Pennington sniffed. “Fine? I heard a man shouting about demons.”

“That was a podcast,” Larry said.

“A podcast,” she repeated suspiciously.

Bethany, desperate to help, blurted,
“Technically it’s a self-help program designed to rewire your subconscious toward high-performance confidence!”

Everyone stared.

Mrs. Pennington slowly lowered her binoculars.

“…So you’re telling me,” she said, “that no demons were harmed or summoned on this property?”

“No,” they all said in unison.

She nodded. “Very well. Continue.”

And she marched off.

Chapter 5 — Making Peace

The door closed.
Silence fell.
Then Destiny burst out laughing—loud, unexpected, uncontrollable.

Bethany blinked. “You’re… not mad?”

“Oh, I’m mad,” Destiny said, wiping a tear. “But the fact that you called the police on your own house to be polite? That’s so Bethany it’s practically a personality trait.”

Larry chuckled. “We’ll just tell the neighbors it was all a misunderstanding.”

Bethany relaxed for the first time in twenty minutes.
“I really am sorry,” she said softly. “I just didn’t want anyone to think we were in trouble.”

Destiny pulled her into a hug.

“Next time,” she said, “just… ask us first.”

Bethany nodded. “Deal.”

Then Larry, holding up the dishwasher manual, added:

“And next time I try to fix something—maybe stop me.”

Everyone agreed.

EPILOGUE: LATER THAT EVENING…

The three of them sat on the couch, sharing pizza, laughing about the whole ordeal.

The dishwasher was still broken.
Larry’s screaming podcast was permanently banned.
And Bethany had officially been demoted from Neighborhood Watch Level 12 to Level… zero.

But they were okay.
Better than okay.
Closer, even.

Because nothing bonds people quite like accidentally calling the police on yourself.
