The atmosphere in Larry’s house had been building like a storm for days. Brooke could feel the tension wrapping around the walls, squeezing the air out of the home she once believed was safe.

Bethany and Larry had been arguing nonstop about Destiny—the little girl who had brought chaos, secrets, and heartbreak into their already complicated family.

One night, Brooke stood in the living room, tears clinging to her lashes as she finally spoke the truth she had been burying deep inside.

Bethany tried to explain her decision once more:

“Brooke, I just need space from Destiny right now… too much has happened.”

But Brooke shook her head, hurt turning into anger.

“Space? She’s a child, Bethany! She needs love! She needs YOU!”

Bethany looked away, ashamed.

Brooke’s lips trembled…
