Cocoa sat alone in her room, unable to sleep. She had carried the weight of a truth so heavy it kept her awake night after night. She knew she couldn’t hold it in much longer. The DNA results… the ones Angelina had tried to bury, the ones Shayla feared, the ones Anthony deserved to know.
Kai’s true biological father was someone else — and Cocoa had the proof.
Chapter 2 – The Gathering Storm
Anthony had grown increasingly suspicious. His lawyer had already whispered of inconsistencies, and Amber pressed him daily to demand the truth. Shayla, however, avoided his questions, clinging to Kai and begging him to “let it go.”
But Anthony wasn’t a man who let things go. And Cocoa knew her silence was only fueling the storm.
Chapter 3 – Cocoa Calls Anthony
One rainy evening, Cocoa’s hands trembled as she picked up her phone. She dialed Anthony’s number. Her voice was low, filled with dread.
“Anthony… I need to tell you something. Meet me tomorrow. It’s about Kai… and it changes everything.”
Anthony froze on the other end, his heart pounding. “Cocoa, what do you mean?”
But Cocoa ended the call before she could lose her courage.
Chapter 4 – The Meeting
They met at a quiet café the next day. Amber insisted on coming, but Cocoa requested it be only her and Anthony. She knew this would shake him to his core.
Cocoa slid a sealed envelope across the table.
“These are the DNA results… the real ones. Not the ones Shayla and Angelina wanted you to see.”
Anthony stared at the envelope as if it were a ticking bomb.
Chapter 5 – The Revelation
His hands shook as he tore it open. His eyes darted across the page, scanning the results once, then twice, then a third time. His throat tightened, his breath uneven.
The words were clear: 0% probability of paternity.
Anthony’s face drained of color. He whispered, almost to himself, “I’m… not Kai’s father?”
Cocoa’s eyes filled with tears. “No, Anthony. You’re not.”
Chapter 6 – The True Father’s Identity
Anthony’s voice cracked as he asked, “Then who? Who is Kai’s real father?”
Cocoa hesitated, her hands clutching her necklace as if it could give her strength. Finally, she said the name.
“It’s… Wayne.”
Anthony’s body stiffened. Wayne — his once-close friend, the man he trusted, the one who had been around Shayla during her pregnancy.
Anthony slammed his fist on the table. The café grew silent as all eyes turned to him. But he didn’t care. His world had just shattered.
Chapter 7 – Anthony’s Breaking Point
He stood up, his voice trembling with rage.
“She lied to me for years. She let me raise a child that wasn’t mine. And Wayne—”
He couldn’t finish the sentence. His chest burned with betrayal. Cocoa reached out, trying to calm him, but Anthony was already storming toward the door.
Chapter 8 – Shayla Confronted
That night, Anthony came home like a hurricane. Shayla sat with Kai on her lap, trying to act as though everything was fine. But when Anthony threw the DNA papers onto the table, her world stopped.
“Explain this!” he shouted.
Shayla froze, her lips quivering. She tried to speak, but the truth was undeniable. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Anthony… I’m sorry. I never meant for it to get this far. I just… I didn’t want to lose you.”
Chapter 9 – Kai Caught in the Middle
Kai, too young to understand the chaos, clutched Anthony’s sleeve.
“Daddy, why are you angry?”
Anthony looked down at him, torn between love and betrayal. The boy he thought was his own was not bound to him by blood — yet his heart still ached at the thought of letting him go.
Shayla sobbed. “Please, Anthony, no matter what the DNA says… you’ve always been his father. You raised him. Don’t let this change everything.”
Chapter 10 – Anthony’s Silent Decision
Anthony said nothing. He picked up the papers and walked toward the door.
“I need time to think,” he said coldly.
The slam of the door echoed through the apartment, leaving Shayla crumpled on the floor, clutching Kai tightly.
Meanwhile, Cocoa sat at home, knowing she had unleashed a storm that no one could stop. The truth was out — Kai’s real father was Wayne, not Anthony. And now, nothing in their world would ever be the same again.
