🏠🔥 “Brodie Gets Angry After Seeing Anthony at Shayla’s House”
The late afternoon sun was sinking behind the rooftops as Brodie turned the corner onto Shayla’s street, gripping the bouquet of red tulips he had picked up from the market. He hadn’t planned to come unannounced, but after their deep conversation the night before — when Shayla broke down and said she "was finally ready to move forward" — Brodie felt like it was time.
He smiled to himself as he pulled up in front of her apartment. But that smile evaporated the second he saw Anthony’s car parked in the driveway.
His grip tightened around the bouquet. What is he doing here?
Brodie stepped out, slamming the door behind him, and stormed toward the house. With each step, the memories of everything Shayla had confessed — the lies, the paternity drama, the manipulation — came flooding back. She had sworn she was done with Anthony. She had begged Brodie to stay when he nearly walked away after finding out she had hidden the first DNA test.
And now… Anthony was back?
Inside Shayla’s Apartment…
Shayla sat stiffly on the couch, her hands folded in her lap. Anthony was standing across from her, visibly frustrated but calm.
“I didn’t come here to fight,” Anthony said firmly. “I came for Kai. I have a right to see him, Shayla.”
Shayla looked exhausted. “You’re not just here for Kai. You’re here because you still don’t believe me. You think I’m still hiding something.”
“I know you are,” Anthony snapped. “And I’m not walking away until I find out what it is.”
Suddenly — BAM BAM BAM! — loud knocks on the front door startled them both.
Shayla jumped. “Oh no.”
Anthony frowned. “Who is it?”
The door burst open before Shayla could respond.
Brodie stormed in.
The Explosion
“Are you serious right now, Shayla?!” Brodie roared, throwing the flowers onto the floor. “After everything? After all those tears, all those nights you said you were done with him?!”
Shayla jumped to her feet. “Brodie, this isn’t what it looks like—”
“Oh, it looks exactly like what it is!” Brodie growled, his eyes burning into Anthony. “And you—what kind of man shows up at his ex’s house after everything that’s happened?”
Anthony’s jaw clenched. “I came to see my son. I don’t need your permission for that.”
“You’re dragging that boy through chaos just to satisfy your ego!” Brodie snapped. “You don’t care about Shayla. You just want control.”
Shayla moved between them. “Stop it, both of you!”
But it was too late. The energy in the room was electric, and the tension was about to erupt.
Shayla Breaks Down
“You want the truth?” Shayla screamed, tears spilling from her eyes. “Fine! I told Brodie you were gone. I told him we were done. Because I wanted us to be done, Anthony! I wanted a new life. One without lies. But you keep showing up!”
Anthony stared at her, stunned.
“You say you want Kai,” Shayla continued, her voice shaking, “but what about when he finds out everything? That he’s the center of a war built on DNA tests, secrets, and courtrooms?”
Anthony looked away. Brodie stood silently, breathing hard.
“I am tired,” Shayla said. “Tired of men trying to claim me, control me, fight over me. Kai doesn’t need another fight. He needs peace.”
The Aftermath
A long silence fell over the room.
Anthony finally spoke. “You’re right. This… this isn’t what Kai needs. I’ll come back tomorrow. With my lawyer.” His voice was low. Controlled.
He brushed past Brodie, giving him a final look — a mix of warning and surrender.
After he left, Brodie looked at Shayla, the anger in his eyes replaced by hurt.
“I loved you, Shayla. But I’m not sure you even know what you want.”
He turned to leave.
“Brodie, please…” she whispered.
He didn’t look back.
Outside the apartment, the tulips lay crushed on the pavement.
And inside, Shayla collapsed to the floor, whispering to herself through tears, “I’ve ruined everything.”
