Shayla was shocked when Amber meet her in Jamaica😱

“Sands of Reckoning”

Location: Negril, Jamaica – 4:15 PM

The ocean was the color of sapphires, waves rolling gently under the golden kiss of the Caribbean sun. Shayla reclined on a private cabana at a five-star resort, sipping from a chilled coconut, her phone off, her mind blissfully distant from courtrooms, custody hearings, and the chaos she’d left behind.

She smiled.

No Anthony. No lawyers. No Amber.
Just her, Roderick, and the promise of a future wrapped in luxury and lies.

She stretched, slipping on her oversized sunglasses, and strolled down toward the shoreline, her designer sarong fluttering behind her like royalty.

But just as her toes touched the wet sand, a voice called out behind her.

“Did you really think you could run from the truth, even here?”

Shayla froze.

The voice wasn’t local.
It wasn’t staff.
It was familiar.
Cold. Calm. And devastatingly sharp.

She turned around slowly — and her heart dropped.

Amber.

Standing there like a storm behind sunglasses, wearing a sleek white linen suit, her hair pulled back, calm as a sniper. In her hand: a folder. And in her eyes? Revenge dressed in elegance.

“Amber?” Shayla blinked. “What the— What are you doing here?”

Amber smiled faintly, walking closer. “Vacation. Girl needed some sun. Imagine my surprise when the resort concierge told me someone had already booked the Oceanfront Bungalow under the name 'Shayla Greene-Mays.’"

Shayla’s throat tightened.

“Don’t worry,” Amber said, tilting her head. “I didn’t come here to fight you. I came to finish something.”

Truth Beneath the Palms

They sat at a small shaded table beneath a thatched umbrella. The ocean roared behind them, but the tension was louder.

Shayla tried to mask her nerves behind a forced smile. “You came all this way… just to what? Lecture me?”

Amber leaned forward, voice low and dangerous.

“No. I came to let you know I see you. And I’m not the only one anymore.”

She dropped the folder on the table.

Inside: copies of Shayla’s alternate passport application, hidden rental agreements, and text logs between her and Roderick — ones Shayla thought had been deleted forever.

Shayla’s eyes widened.

Amber didn’t stop.

“You think you’re two steps ahead of Anthony, right? Planning your little tropical wedding? Lining up divorce filings in secret? Having a new man raise a child you’re still pretending belongs to Anthony?”

“You're not clever, Shayla. You're just sloppy and selfish.”

Shayla sat up straight, trying to reclaim her power. “You have no authority over me. You're just his bitter ex-wife. What makes you think this concerns you?”

Amber laughed, but there was no humor in it.

“Because I loved him. And because he deserves to know the whole truth. Which means I will keep unraveling you, island by island, document by document, until you have nothing left to hide behind.”

She leaned closer, her words like fire in Shayla’s ear:

“You played the long game. But sweetheart, I built the board.”

A Glimpse of Fear

Shayla stood suddenly, heart pounding. “You followed me? You’re insane.”

Amber stood too, calm and composed.

“No. I just refused to let you win in silence.”

She picked up her bag and paused before walking away.

“By the way, the DNA results? They’re coming in two days. Anthony’s not waiting anymore. And when he finds out that Kai isn’t his son?”

Amber leaned in one last time.

“You better pray you’re still in Jamaica. Because once that truth hits American soil, your entire game collapses.

Shayla stood alone, stunned, watching Amber disappear down the beach — like a ghost from a past that refused to die.

Later That Night…

Shayla sat alone on the resort balcony, Roderick off at the bar. Her drink untouched. Her hands shaking.

For the first time in years, she wasn’t in control.

She wasn’t admired. Or envied. Or protected.

For the first time… she was cornered.

And Amber had done it without raising her voice once.

To Be Continued…
