AMBER IS DATING VICTOR AND KELVIN 🤫

When Shayla Dropped the Bomb: “Anthony Still Got Feelings for Amber”

Chapter 1: A Calm Before the Chaos

It was a typical Friday night in the small town of Brooksville. The spring air was warm, the stars were out, and laughter echoed from the backyard of Kai’s house, where a group of close friends had gathered around a firepit. Shayla, Amber, Anthony, Kai, and a few others had grown up together—tight-knit, complicated, and full of history.

Kai passed out sodas while Anthony scrolled through his phone, pretending not to glance at Amber every few seconds. Amber sat comfortably beside her new boyfriend, Zayden—cool, athletic, effortlessly charming. She leaned into Zayden’s side, her eyes glowing in the firelight. She looked happy.

Too happy for Anthony.

And Shayla saw it all.

Chapter 2: Under the Surface

Shayla had known Anthony for years. She had seen him at his worst, through failed relationships, late-night rants, and private confessions. One of those confessions had come just the night before—when they sat in Shayla’s car after school, and he finally said it out loud:

“I still love Amber. I never stopped.”

Shayla had sucked in her breath, unsure how to respond. Anthony’s eyes were glassy, a war behind them. “She moved on like I never existed,” he said. “But I can’t fake it anymore.”

He made her promise to keep it a secret.

But that was easier said than done.

Chapter 3: Firelight & Fury

Back at the firepit, the energy shifted when Kai joked, “Hey Anthony, you okay over there? You’re staring like you just saw your future walk away.”

Everyone laughed—except Anthony.

And Shayla.

Amber glanced at him awkwardly and shifted closer to Zayden.

Shayla took a deep breath. She wasn’t sure what made her do it. Maybe it was the years of watching Anthony pine for someone who’d moved on. Maybe it was the hypocrisy of pretending everything was okay. Maybe it was just that one too many truths had been bottled up.

She looked up and said it.

Just like that.

“Anthony still got feelings for Amber.”

Silence.

The laughter died. Even the fire seemed to dim.

Chapter 4: The Reaction

Amber blinked as if slapped. Zayden turned to Anthony, confused and defensive.

Anthony’s eyes went wide. “Shayla, what the hell?”

“You told me yourself!” Shayla snapped. “Last night. You said it. Stop pretending like it’s not true just because she’s holding someone else’s hand now.”

Amber stood up, visibly shaken. “Is this true?” she asked Anthony.

He hesitated. That silence was louder than any yes.

Zayden stood too. “Yo, this some high school drama or are we grown now? Because I’m not about to play games.”

Anthony got up slowly, eyes on Amber. “It’s true,” he said, voice quiet but steady. “I didn’t mean to mess things up. I just… I never stopped loving you.”

Amber's mouth parted slightly. “Anthony... you broke up with me. You ghosted me. For months.”

“I know,” he said. “And it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made.”

Chapter 5: Torn in Two

Amber looked torn. Zayden was standing next to her, jaw clenched. Anthony stood on the other side, holding onto a past that had long since crumbled.

Shayla sat still, regretting her outburst but knowing it was overdue. Sometimes, truth needed a hammer to be heard.

Kai finally spoke. “Y’all wanna do this here? In front of everyone?”

Amber turned to Zayden. “I didn’t know,” she whispered.

Zayden exhaled sharply. “Do you still care about him?”

Amber hesitated. “I care that he’s hurting. I don’t know what else I feel.”

That pause hit everyone hard.

Chapter 6: The Fallout

The group splintered. Zayden left early, Amber trailing behind him after saying a quiet goodbye. Anthony sat down again, staring into the fire like it might burn away his guilt.

Shayla sat next to him. “I’m sorry,” she said softly. “But it was time.”

He didn’t reply.

Kai looked around and muttered, “Well. That escalated.”

The night ended quietly, without the usual hugs and plans for tomorrow. Everyone left with too much unsaid.

Chapter 7: The Aftermath

In the days that followed, drama unfolded like wildfire.

Amber didn’t come to school for two days.

Zayden stopped texting her back.

Anthony apologized to the group—and to Amber—but kept his distance. He knew he couldn’t fix everything with a confession. Some wounds run too deep, especially when they come late.

Shayla and Kai talked about it over lunch. “You did what he was too scared to do,” Kai said. “That took guts.”

“It took stupidity,” Shayla replied. “I just wanted peace. Instead, I lit the match.”

Chapter 8: Amber’s Choice

A week later, Amber finally approached Anthony.

“I’m with Zayden now,” she said. “I’m not going to pretend your words didn’t shake me—but I’ve moved forward. And you need to, too.”

Anthony nodded. “I just needed you to know.”

“I do,” she said. “But knowing isn’t the same as feeling it back.”

She smiled gently, then turned and walked away—leaving Anthony alone, but free.

Chapter 9: Shayla and the Truth

Shayla thought Amber might be angry with her forever. But a few days later, she received a text:

"You did what I was too scared to ask. Thank you. I needed the truth—even if it hurt."

It wasn’t friendship restored. But it was a start.

Sometimes the truth doesn’t fix everything. Sometimes it tears things apart.

But sometimes… it sets people free.
