"If You See Amber Again, You're Done!"

If You See Amber Again, You're Done!

The storm outside was nothing compared to the one brewing inside the house.

Rain pounded the windows of the upscale apartment Shayla and Anthony had shared for the past few months. A quiet tension had lingered for days—since Anthony came back from Spain, where Amber had been staying. Shayla could see it in his eyes. He was back... but his heart wasn’t.

That evening, the silence broke like a thunderclap.

It Started With a Phone Call

Anthony sat on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He thought Shayla had gone upstairs, but her sharp eyes caught the name glowing on his screen:

Amber.

Just a missed call.

But that was enough.

Shayla, in her robe, arms crossed, stood by the staircase like a shadow.

“Was that Amber?” she asked, voice calm but cold.

Anthony looked up, startled. “It’s not what you think.”

“Oh really? Because I think you’re still chasing the woman who tore your world apart, and now you’re letting her do it again.”

Anthony sighed. “You don’t get it, Shayla. I just need closure.”

Shayla’s jaw clenched. “Closure? Closure? You flew to Spain. You left me here with Kai like I was the nanny. You came back pretending everything’s fine, and now you're still sneaking phone calls?”

“I’m not sneaking anything,” Anthony said firmly. “I just needed to talk to her—about us. About the past.”

The Explosion

That was the last straw.

Shayla stormed into the living room and grabbed the framed photo of her, Anthony, and Kai. Her hands shook.

“You want the past?” she snapped. “Then go back to it! But you don’t get to have both. Not me and her. Not my peace and your regret!”

Anthony stood. “Shayla, don’t do this.”

“Do what, Anthony? Speak up? Draw the line? Fine—here’s your line.”

She walked to the front door, flung it open as wind and rain howled through.

“You walk out that door to see Amber again, don’t come back.”

Anthony looked at her, face still but torn. “You’re threatening me now?”

“No. I’m protecting myself. I gave you everything—everything!—when she didn’t want you. And now, the second she blinks in your direction, you’re running?”

“I didn’t run. I was trying to fix the damage I caused.”

“By causing more damage here?”

Kai began crying upstairs. Shayla didn’t flinch.

“I’m not going to raise my son in a house where I come second. So either delete her number and cut that tie—or pack your things.”

Anthony’s Choice

For a long moment, Anthony didn’t speak. The room was heavy with the sound of rain and the echo of things they couldn’t take back.

He finally said, “I never meant to hurt you, Shayla. You were there when I was broken. I’ll never forget that.”

Shayla nodded, a tear slipping down her cheek, but her voice remained steady.

“Then respect me enough to let me go if you’re not fully here.”

Anthony stared at the photo on the table—Kai’s little smile, Shayla’s arms around them both. A family that wasn’t built on lies... but maybe not built on love either.

He turned back to her.

“I need time,” he said quietly.

Shayla stepped back, her voice now barely a whisper.

“You’ve had all the time in the world. I’m done waiting.”

And with that, she walked upstairs, closing the bedroom door behind her.

To Be Continued…

Now Anthony stands at a crossroads—with Shayla furious and fed up, Kai in the middle, and Amber quietly reaching out from across the emotional ocean.
He can’t have it all… so who does he choose?

Let me know if you want the next chapter—maybe Shayla confides in Mike, or Amber finds out Anthony’s in trouble. 👀🔥
