Shayla’s warning came too late… Anthony was already in too deep.
The night was heavy with silence. The kind that felt wrong.
Anthony sat in his car, staring at his phone.
One missed call from Shayla.
One voicemail.
Something about it didn’t sit right with him.
Shayla wasn’t the type to sound scared.
She was always the one playing the game—never the one running from it.
So why did her voice sound so… broken?
He hesitated, then pressed play.
Her whisper came through the speaker, rushed and frantic:
"Anthony… it’s Shayla. You need to listen to me. I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but you have to believe me this time. You’re in danger. REAL danger. I tried to stop it, I swear I did. But it’s too late. They’re coming for you. And if you don’t—"
The message cut off.
Anthony’s stomach twisted into knots.
His heart pounded in his chest.
Who was coming for him?
And why?
Before he could think any further—
The sound of tires screeching behind him made him freeze.
A black SUV rolled up, headlights blinding.
Then—
The doors swung open.
And everything changed.
The Trap Was Set
Anthony barely had time to react before two masked men rushed toward him.
His instincts kicked in—he reached for the glove compartment, where his piece was stashed.
Too late.
One of the men yanked the car door open, grabbing Anthony by his jacket.
The other jammed a gun into his side.
"Don’t fight it, bro," one of them growled. "It’ll only make it worse."
Anthony clenched his jaw, mind racing.
Shayla’s warning—it wasn’t just some dramatic stunt.
It was real.
And now?
He was in too deep.
The Warehouse
They took him to an old warehouse on the east side of town.
A place where bad things happened.
Anthony knew it well.
He’d done his fair share of dirt, but nothing like this.
They dragged him inside, threw him into a chair, and tied his hands behind his back.
A few minutes later—
A familiar figure stepped out of the shadows.
Anthony’s blood ran cold.
It was Darius.
The last person he ever wanted to see.
The man smirked, adjusting the gold watch on his wrist.
"You didn’t think I’d find out, did you?" Darius asked, circling him like a predator.
Anthony didn’t blink.
"Find out what?"
Darius chuckled.
"Oh, you know damn well what."
Then, Darius pulled out his phone and played a voice memo.
Shayla’s voice echoed in the empty warehouse.
"Darius, listen—Anthony doesn’t know. He was never supposed to know. But if you hurt him, I swear—"
The recording stopped.
Darius raised an eyebrow.
"So tell me, Anthony… why was Shayla trying to protect you?"
Anthony’s mind raced.
He didn’t know the full story yet—
But one thing was clear.
Shayla had been playing both sides.
And now?
He was the one paying the price.
The Realization
Anthony exhaled slowly, keeping his face unreadable.
He wasn’t about to beg.
He wasn’t about to plead.
That wasn’t who he was.
But one thing was clear—
He needed to find Shayla.
Because whatever she did…
Whatever secret she was hiding…
It was big enough to get him killed.
And now?
Time was running out.
To Be Continued…?
What did Shayla do? Can Anthony get out of this? Let me know if you want the next part! 🔥👀
